Overview of Johannesburg School of Finance

Johannesburg School of Finance (Pty) Ltd (Reg No. 1998/010820/07) is a private sector provider of finance and finance-related training. Our main focus areas are:

  • Short courses in business and financial management for the corporate market
  • Investment training courses for analysts, asset managers and investment professionals, including CFA® preparation workshops
  • Trustee training for trustees of pension and provident funds
  • Entrepreneurship skills development for school learners and educators.
  • 1-on-1 coaching for directors and other high-level decision makers.

Our corporate clients include listed and unlisted companies, organisations, institutions and funds from all sectors of the economy.

We present courses throughout South Africa each year and have also carried out assignments on behalf of clients in Namibia, Botswana, Swaziland, Lesotho, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mocambique, Malawi, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, Liberia, South Sudan, Egypt and Mauritius as well as in the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Australia.

We have 6 full-time employees, 2 part-time staff and an additional faculty of 6 associate presenters and consultants.

Accreditation

Johannesburg School of Finance (Pty) Ltd is an accredited training provider with the SETA for Finance, Accounting, Management Consulting and Other Financial Services (FASSET) for the course 'Interpreting Financial Statements'.  Our accreditation number is 585/00187/05. South African companies will be able to recognize our training in terms of their skills development plan and will be eligible for the applicable refund of their levy. Should you have a particular qualification in mind, for which financial training is required according to a specified unit standard, please approach us to design the training course to meet these requirements. It is squarely within both the letter and the spirit of accreditation policy for an approved training provider, such as ourselves, to design and present the necessary material and to conduct the assessment against which the credits towards the qualification will be awarded. Nevertheless, in accordance with South African legislation, we have been assessed by BEE-MATRIX in terms of the broad based BEE strategy, as a Level 4  (100%) contributor against the generic scorecard.  We are technically exempt from BEE compliance requirements on account of our size, but have elected to commit ourselves fully to the process.
